Welcome to the Career and Internship Services website! We would like to collaborate with the faculty and staff at Dominican University in order to increase the effectiveness of our services. It is imperative that you, as possible initial contacts with students, alumni, prospective students, employers, and parents are aware of the services we provide. About Us
Career and Internship Services provides career development programs and services to empower students and alumni to develop skills for lifelong career satisfaction. We provide resources to connect students with employers. Career and Internship Services offers the following workshops and events:
- Annual Career, Internship, and Graduate School Fair--Wednesday, October 15, 2008
- Professional Resume Writing
- "ACEing" the Job InterviewWinning Strategies for Launching Your Career
- An Etiquette Dinner to Shape Your Professional Style in the Workplace
- Is Graduate School for You?- A Panel of Experts
- Peace Corps Information Sessions
Other services include:
Career Counseling--We offer individual counseling throughout the year to students and alumni.
Class Presentations--Career counselors present of a variety of career topics in classes by faculty request.
Lunchtime Recruiting--Several non-profit, business, and government organizations are scheduled to provide information on ful-time, part-time, and summer opportunities at a table in Caleruega Dining Hall on Wednesday afternoons from 12 noon- 1:30 p.m.
Internship Program--Please remind students planning on registering for an internship for academic credit, to begin the process a semester ahead. The career counselors provide assistance in locating an appropriate internship related to the students major or career goals, distribute the internship packet (needed to register) and review the grading requirements.
Dominican Career Network--Jobs and internships for students and alumni can be posted at:https://dominican-csm.symplicity.com/employers. Faculty and staff are invited to refer potential employers to this website.
Career Resource Library--A wide variety of books, directories, guidess, and periodicals offer career-related information. Included in the collection are the Bay Area and North Bay Book of Lists, the Green Careers Journal, Hispanic Business, the S.F. Chamber of Commerce Global Connections, and the San Francisco Business Times. The library has occupational and job search books, salary guides, and graduate school information. Detailed career and job-search handouts are also available.
Post-Graduate Survey--Emailed to the 2007 graduates in November. The report will be posted when processed.

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9 am - 6 pm, Friday 9 am - 5 pm. Drop by, call or email for an appointment.
Drop-in Hours (No appointment needed): Monday - Thursday, 2 pm - 4 pm, Friday, 11- noon.
