Student Housing
Forms
The links below contain information designed to help you make the transition to campus living, so please review everything carefully. Information on what to bring to campus is outlined for you. We know how hectic and stressful this transition is for both students and parents, and we have designed a process that will hopefully take some of the stress out of heading off to college.
Please print out and complete the Housing Contract and Emergency Contact Form prior to check-in and bring them with you to check-in. This will help tremendously in making check-in run smoothly.

Move-in information:
There will be several hundred people moving in over the course of several days. In order to make the check-in process as seamless as possible, we have designated specific days and times for the various groups of students.
GROUP A: NEW STUDENTS ASSIGNED TO RESIDENCE HALLS
MOVE-IN DAY: August 18th (8:00am-1:00pm)
New students moving into the residence halls should park their vehicles at the Conlan Recreation Center parking lot upon arriving to campus (please see the campus map for directions). The check-in process will be held at the Conlan Recreation Center. In order to expedite the process, we ask that you complete all the necessary forms in advance and present them when you arrive. There is no need to arrive prior to 8:00am as there will be plenty of time for you to unload before Orientation begins that afternoon.
Students will check-in alphabetically by last name where staff will verify the students' info and present students with a packet of materials as well as their room key. Once check-in is complete, students will follow specific directions (in packet) for parking and unloading their vehicles. PLEASE NOTE: it is important that the parking directions are followed so as to reduce traffic and confusion for everyone.
Students should be sure to visit the Information Technology Department in the Alemany Library before 2:00pm so that they can get their student ID (Penguin Pass) and activate their Dominican email account.
NOTE TO PARENTS: There will be plenty of time during the first few days of Orientation for students to arrange their rooms. While we understand your wanting to be sure your student has their space set-up before you leave, it is important that the arrangment and logistics of the room be determined by the students who will be occupying that space. We suggest that you help them with bringing their stuff to the room and with basic unpacking, but please leave the arrangements and decorating to the students.
GROUP B: CONTINUING STUDENTS ASSIGNED TO RESIDENCE HALLS
MOVE-IN DAY: Saturday Aug. 21 & Sunday Aug. 22 (10:00am-3:00pm)
Upon arriving to campus, please park in your assigned residence hall parking lot. From there, please walk to the Fanjeaux Student Union where the Housing Staff will be available to collect your paperwork and issue you a room key. In order to expedite the check-in process, we ask that you please complete all the necessary forms in advance and present them when you arrive.
NOTE: If you have reserved a parking-space in the residence hall lots, you must verify your vehicle information (make, model, license plate) before being issued a parking permit.
GROUP C: NEW AND CONTINUING STUDENTS ASSIGNED TO SHERATON HOTEL
MOVE-IN DAY: Sunday, August 22 (3:00-6:00pm)
New students moving into Four Points Sheraton must move-in at this specific time. Due to a large conference happening at the hotel this weekend, we are unable to access the students room until then. There will be a designated check-in area for Dominican students. PLEASE CHECK-IN AT THE DOMINICAN AREA WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE HOTEL. In order to expedite the check-in process, we ask that you complete all the necessary forms in advance and present them when you arrive.
Students living at the Sheraton may be required to sign an additional housing contract that articulates the hotel rules and regulations. In addition, a separate email will be sent out in the coming week with specific information about packing for the hotel and processes and procedures for living at the hotel. Please note that additional furniture (couches, chairs, etc) and appliances (microwaves, televisions, etc) are NOT ALLOWED at the hotel.
Please visit the Four Points Sheraton website for information and images about guest rooms.
Dominican Penguin Pass (ID Card)
Remember to carry Idenitification (Driver's License, State ID) with you to gain your Penguin Pass from the I.T. (Information Technology) Department in the Library. As an on-campus student, you will need your Penguin Pass to gain access to Pennafort and Fanjeaux Hall. Please make an effort to stop by IT Wednesday, August 19 to get your Penguin Pass.
