  • BioMed Central full-text -  Access to over 200 free peer-reviewed open-access journals in biomedical research (Requires FREE registration).
  • BioOne full-text - Innovative full-text database of 150 biology journals never before available online. 
  • Books In Print  - (Not Full Text) This database contains bibliographic information about books in print, audio books and videos.
  • Business Source Complete fulltexticon.gif - The leading international database for business and management providing the full text of over 4,000 electronic journals. Many of the top scholarly journals are available from 1965, with some going back even further. An excellent starting point for any search for business information. Also includes full text information such as country economic reports, and detailed company profiles for the world's 5,000 largest companies. Comprehensive EIU country reports for all countries of the world are available with a six month delay.

  • CINAHL Plus with Full Text full-text - Nursing and allied health literature from 1937 to the present.  Search journal articles, books, standards of professional practice, dissertations, educational software, audiovisual materials, and reports.  This database contains evidence-based care information, continuing education modules, research instruments, and consumer health information. 
  • Clase and Periodica  - (Not Full Text) Indexes documents published in Latin American journals specializing in the social sciences, humanities, science and technology. Offer access to more than 400,000 bibliographic citations from documents published in 2,600 scholarly journals published in the Spanish, Portuguese, French and English languages.  (primarily in Spanish)
  • Cochrane Controlled Trials Register full-text - A bibliographic database of definitive controlled trials. These controlled trials have been identified by the distinguished contributors to the Cochrane Collaboration. They and others, as part of an international effort to search the world's health care journals (and other sources of information) systematically, have combined results to create an unbiased source of data for systematic reviews.
  • Cochrane Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness full-text- Reviews are based on the best available information about healthcare interventions. They explore the evidence for and against the effectiveness and appropriateness of treatments (medications, surgery, education, etc) in specific circumstances.
  • Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews full-text - A collection of databases that contain high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making. Cochrane reviews represent the highest level of evidence on which to base clinical treatment decisions.
  • Cochrane NHS Economic Evaluation Database full-text - This database provides health care decision-makers with easy access to reliable information about the costs as well as the effects of drugs, treatments and procedures, to inform their decisions.
  • Cochrane Health Technology Assessment full-text - This database contains articles on Health Technology Assessment.  Health Technology Assessment applies rigorous, systematic methods of scientific inquiry to the evaluation and use of new or existing health care technologies.
  • Communications and Mass Media Complete full-text - Provides the most robust, quality research solution in areas related to communication and mass media. This database offers cover-to-cover ("core") indexing and abstracts for more than 420 journals, and selected ("priority") coverage of nearly 200 more, for a combined coverage of more than 600 titles. Furthermore, this database includes full text for 301 journals.
  • CountryWatch fulltexticon.gif - A statistics, business, geopolitical resource for 192 countries of the world
  • CQ Researcher full-text - In-depth, unbiased coverage of health, social trends, criminal justice, international affairs, education, the environment, technology, and the economy. Reports are published weekly in print and online 44 times a year by CQ Press, a division of Congressional Quarterly Inc.

  • Dance in Video - Documentaries by the most influential performers and companies of the 20th century. Selections cover ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, experimental, and improvisational dance, as well as forerunners of the forms and the pioneers of modern concert dance.
  • Digital Library of the Commons fulltexticon.gif - Provides free access to an archive of international literature on the commons, common-pool resources and common property. Features for authors and readers include advanced searching; browsing by region, sector, and author name; an author submission portal for uploading a variety of document formats; and a service that uses email to alert subscribers to new documents in their area of interest.
  • Directory of Open Access Journals full-text - This service covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals.  There are over 3,700 journals in the directory.

  • Education Research Complete fulltexticon.gif - Covers scholarly research and information relating to all areas of education. Topics covered include all levels of education from early childhood to higher education, and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education, and testing. Education Research Complete also covers areas of curriculum instruction as well as administration, policy, funding, and related social issues. Over 1,00 full text journal titles.
  • fulltexticon.gif - In-depth economic and political analysis and forecasts for the world's 60 largest economies as well as daily business intelligence for all 201 countries of the world.
  • Encyclopedia Britannica full-text - Full text of the encyclopedia online.
  • Environment Complete full-text - Nearly 700 full text journals in the fields of environmental science, sustainable business, environmental management and policy.
  • ERIC fulltexticon.gif -  EBSCO Version.  Provides access to more than 1.2 million bibliographic records of journal articles and other education-related materials and, if available, includes links to full text. ERIC is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, Institute of Education Sciences. Provides direct links to all EBSCO database content.

  • Gallica full-text - Full text free archive of nearly 400 French scholarly journals (in French).
  • GeneReviews full-text - A publicly funded medical genetics information resource developed for physicians, other healthcare providers, and researchers.  Contains reviews of human genetic diseases and related information.
  • Government Printing Office full-text - Search the GPO for reports, hearings, conference reports, the congressional record and more material related to the federal government.
  • Government Printing Office Catalog - (Not Full Text) Index to government documents
  • GreenFile full-text -  Focusing on the relationship between human beings and the environment, with well-researched but accessible information on topics ranging from global warming to recycling to alternate fuel sources and beyond. Comprised of scholarly and general interest titles, as well as government documents and reports.

  • Hong Kong Journals Online full-text- Full text image database providing access to selected academic and professional journals, both in English and Chinese, published in Hong Kong. Titles included in this database cover a wide range of disciplines including law, medicine and education. Issues included in this database vary from journal to journal with the earliest going back to 1872.
  • Humanities International Complete full-text - Provides full text of hundreds of journals, books and other published sources from around the world. This database includes all data from Humanities International Index (more than 2,000 journals and 2 million records) plus unique full text content, much of which is not found in other databases. The database includes full text for nearly 1,000 journals.

  • International Bibliography of Theatre and Dance fulltexticon.gif - Contains all of the content available in International Bibliography of Theatre & Dance as well as full text for more than 150 journal titles, including Canadian Theatre Review, Dance Chronicle, Dance Teacher, Modern Drama, PAJ: A Journal of Performance and Art, Research in Dance Education, Research in Drama Education, Studies in Theatre and Performance, TDR: The Drama Review, Theater, and many more. Additional full text available includes more than 300 books and monographs.
  • International Encyclopedia of Dance fulltexticon.gif - With nearly 2,000 articles written by scholars from fifty countries, the Encyclopedia covers the full spectrum of dance—theatrical, ritual, dance-drama, folk, traditional, ethnic, and social dance. Cultural and national overviews are accompanied by entries on dance forms, music and costumes, performances, and biographies of dancers and choreographers.

  • JSTOR fulltexticon.gif -  Full text of nearly 1,200 scholarly journals back to their first issue. Offers researchers the ability to retrieve high-resolution, scanned images of journal issues and pages as they were originally designed, printed, and illustrated. The journals archived in JSTOR span many disciplines.

  • Library Literature fulltexticon.gif - Reflecting the latest trends in a rapidly evolving field, this database indexes English and foreign-language periodicals, selected state journals, conference proceedings, pamphlets, books, and library school theses, plus over 300 books per year. Over 400 periodicals as far back as 1984, many of them peer-reviewed. Full text of articles from over 155 journals as far back as 1997.
  • LISTA  - (Not Full Text) Library, information science and technology abstracts.
  • Literature Resource Center fulltexticon.gif - Full-text journal articles, literary criticism, reviews, biographical information, and overviews on over 130,000 writers in all disciplines, from all time periods and from around the world.

  • Nature full-text (2004 to present) - The premier journal of  peer-reviewed science articles covering chemistry, clinical practice and research sciences, Earth and the environment, life sciences, and physical sciences.
  • Naxos Classical Music Library fulltexticon.gif - Online database of more than 15,000 classical music recordings including Classical music, Jazz, World, Folk and Chinese music. Whilst listening, you can read notes on the works being played as well as biographical information on composers or artists in Naxos's extensive database.  NOTE: usage is limited.  You MUST log out when finished.
  • Naxos Jazz Music Library fulltexticon.gif - Online database of jazz music recordings.  NOTE: usage is limited.  You MUST log out when finished.
  • Netlibrary fulltexticon.gif - NetLibrary provides access to your library's eContent collection. eContent is the digital version of books, journals, and database content.

  • Popline - (Not Full Text) Index to the world's literature on reproductive health.
  • ProceedingsFirst  - (Not Full Text) Index covers every published congress, symposium, conference, exposition, workshop and meeting received by The British Library Document Supply Center. Contains in each record a list of the papers presented at each conference. 
  • PsychInfo full-text - Psychology articles and books, mostly citations and abstracts, APA journals in full text. Provides direct links from citations to content in all EBSCO databases.
  • Public Library of Science full-text - Six full text open-access journals in biology, clinical trials, computational biology,  genetics, medicine and pathogens.
  • PubMed  - (Index, but now linked to full text at Dominican) Index provided by the National Library of Medicine with access to over 12 million citations back to the mid-1960's.  Note:  You must use this link in order to take advantage of direct links to Dominican content; accessing PubMed over the web will not provide this feature.
  • PubMed Central full-text - The U.S. National Library of Medicine's digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature, providing free access to the full text of articles.

  • ScienceDirect:  Health and Biological Sciences (1995 - Present) full-text - Biology and health science college edition - full text scholarly journal articles in the sciences.  This database ALSO includes ScienceDirect social and behavioral sciences college edition.  Nearly 1,300 titles.
  • Scirus full-text - Comprehensive science-specific search engine on the Internet. Driven by the latest search engine technology, Scirus searches over 450 million science-specific Web pages, enabling you to quickly find the information that you need.
  • Sheet Music Now is now Freehand Music
  • SocIndex full-text - Comprehensive coverage of sociology, encompassing all sub-disciplines and closely related areas of study.   • Thomas full-text - Search the Library of Congress for enacted bills, bills progressing through Congress, the Congressional Record, congressional calendars, treaties, committee reports and much more.

U

  • USP DI Volume II - Advice for the Patient  full-text -Detailed Drug Information for the Consumer - Drug Information in Lay Language provides patient-oriented drug information to help patients understand and successfully follow their drug regimens. Written at a 12th-grade literacy level, documents provide greater detail than most patient education leaflets and include brand names, descriptions, proper use, precautions, and side effects. Instructions for how to handle missed doses are included, as are guidelines for when to seek medical assistance or supervision.
