"I love Paris in the winter, when it drizzles" - Cole Porter

Brandon - Thursday April 9, 2009 - I haven't written since we got back from Spring break so I have lots to say about my trip and school since then.

I don't want to be too boring but I'm going to approach this with some organization. First I should start with my vacation which was a trip to Berlin, Prague, and Paris.

Berlin is probably my new most favorite city that I've ever visited. There is something about it that makes it unique, and it could be because everything is so new, or because the people are so nice but its a feeling that almost indescribable. The city is beautiful and weird, there is graffiti everywhere, and it's not considered a bad thing. We learned a lot about German history and the problems that the German people are still facing, which was pretty cool. I ate good food, drank really good beer, and had an amazing time.

Prague is a beautiful city. It really wasn't my style but it is definitely a place I would love to go back and visit. The food there was great too, and the people were all pretty nice. It was hard to get over some of the cultural things though. The smoking, tipping, etc. were all hard to swallow but I think that by the time we left after two nights we were all pretty much pro's at figuring out how much American money 2000 Czech korunas were.

Paris was an amazing city even for only 18 hours. Obviously a favorite of tourists, it was nice to be there in the off season. There was something special about being there when it was cold and damp. We perfected the art of Metro riding, we walked from Notre Dame to the Eiffel Tower (which I would recommend never doing again) ate amazing steak and fries, had the best ice cream ever, and kinda just took everything in if for only a short time.

Since then it was back to school, and back to the horrible grind that is the end of Spring semester. My classes all have been really amazing, but now it's time to begin work on finals and final projects. For Gardens I'm designing a park, for photography I have to do a presentation, I have to finish a movie, I have to finish my Senior Thesis, everything is rushing quickly to a close.

To top it all off, I'm going to NCUR (National Conference of Undergraduate Research) next week so I have been working on that, and have to take work with me to finish.

It's pretty hectic but in May it will be over.
