Welcome Back to Dominican, Mr. President
David -Wednesday, September 13, 2008- Welcome back to Dominican and the last years here at DU.
It is great to be back at Dominican! I moved in all my belongings into what I like to call the Presidential Suite...Well, it's not really a top of the line room, but it's a single in a beautiful building on campus and since I am the President, why not call it the Presidential Suite? Just Kidding! Move in day was great! I was really happy to see all my friends at Dominican...Everyone looked amazing! You never realize what you have until you've been away from it so long. When I saw my friends, it was as if we haven't seen each other in years! We really didn't do anything that day since all of us were tired and just wanted to see how summer was for everyone.
However, the next day, we all went over to a friends house and had a relaxing evening. We talked about what it was like when we were freshmen...being that this is our last year, what we wanted to complete this year, and what our plans are for the following year. It was pretty emotional thinking about our final year at Dominican but we all agreed that we have to make the best of the time we have left together. We all made an agreement to stick together and have the most out of our senior year!
So far, school has been good! I've been reading and doing all the necessary tasks to stay ahead of my classes. I have my first exams next week so I will be studying plenty this weekend. I am suppose to be attending an Oakland A's game on Saturday but I may have to cancel so I can prepare for my exams. I hope I can make the game as there will be a delicious BBQ before the first pitch!
ASDU is going well! Everyone on the team seems to be dedicated and willing to work hard to make a change here at DU! SO far, our average number of guests in attendance to our events is 136! That's a 150% increase from last year! I am very amazed with the turn outs and I hope the student body will pull together and see that Boat Dance 2008 will be happening!
