Basketball, Halloween and a Litte Relaxation.
Michaelia-Thursday, November 6, 2008: With the up coming season opener I am able to relax just a little and just have fun.
Basketball season is finally starting to pick up. We had our alumni game the other week and this Saturday we are having our season opener. There are so many emotions at the beginning of each year; excitement, anticipation, joy and my personal favorite...butterflies. Even after 15 years of basketball I still get those annoying butterflies before games. But once my adrenaline gets going those butterflies quickly fly away.
Halloween has to be my favorite holiday and for the first time in my life I actually wrote a four page paper on the night of Halloween, not because I had tons of homework just because I wanted to get ahead in my school work. I wanted to get all my schoolwork out of the way so I would have nothing to do over the weekend. But I didn't stay in all night; in the spur of the moment my friend, Monique, and I decided to go trick-or-treating. We made costumes with stuff we found around the room and we ended up being Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! And our costumes looked pretty good. Our main goal that night was to get tons of candy to treat ourselves for all of our hard work.
After some extremely busy weeks I have finally been able to relax and kick back. My roommates and I have been having charade nights, movie nights and chili cheese dog nights. These nights have felt so rewarding because I've worked so hard to just be able to relax. But it's nice to have a break right before a big game.
