Commencement 2021 To Feature Drive-Through Send-Off, Formal Virtual Ceremony
Dominican University of California will kick off Commencement 2021 by hosting a series of on-campus drive-through celebrations on May 5 for all graduating students.
Because of restrictions imposed by the pandemic, a formal virtual commencement ceremony will be held on May 15, beginning at 10 a.m. Commencement will be live-streamed and also will be available for watching on-demand after the live ceremony.
The Drive-Through Graduate Send-Off will provide a safe way for the University to celebrate its graduates in person on the beautiful Dominican campus.
Graduates are invited to decorate their car, don their regalia, and drive through campus as President Mary B. Marcy, faculty, and staff line Acacia Avenue to cheer on the students and celebrate their accomplishments.
Students receiving Latin honors (cum laude) and/or departmental honors will receive their medallions and cords from the Office of the Registrar via a drive-up table. Alumni Relations also will welcome graduates to the Dominican Alumni Association with an Alumni gift at another drive-up station. Graduates will remain in their cars and comply with the social-distancing requirements and current public health guidance. Faculty and staff also will comply with social distancing requirements and public health guidance.
Students wishing to participate in the Drive-Through Graduate Send-Off will receive complete details and an opportunity to RSVP in the coming weeks.
The Campus bookstore is providing physically-distanced photography appointments on campus, with diFranco Photography; complimentary proof included, and a variety of packages will be available for purchase. Schedule your photography session using the Bookstore's Google Calendar. Professional headshot also available during your appointment. Appointments are available in 10-minute intervals.
The campus will be open to students and families who wish to take their own photographs – we ask that all visitors to campus please wear a mask or appropriate face covering at all times.
