Community Dialogues, Student Activities Focus on Presidential Election
Dominican University of California faculty have planned a series of events focused on the 2024 presidential election. The events, which will be held on Dominican’s campus in San Rafael, are open to students, faculty, and staff. Members of the public are invited to the October 2, October 8, October 9, and October 16 community dialogues.
September 17: National Voter Registration Day, Caleruega Plaza, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Student, faculty, staff event.
October 1: Vice Presidential Debate Watch Party, Chilly's Cafe, 6 p.m. Student event.
October 2: The Alemany Library and the Division of Public Affairs present: Community Dialogues for the 2024 Election. Dominican sociology professor Charlie Sarno presents “Considering the Politics of Cults,” Alemany Library Reading Room, noon-1 p.m. Open to the public.
October 8: League of Women Voters, “Know Your Ballot,” Creekside Room, noon-1 p.m. Open to the public.
October 9: The Alemany Library and the Division of Public Affairs present: Community Dialogues for the 2024 Election. Dominican religion and philosophy professor George Faithful presents “White, Christian, Nationalism: What Voters Need to Know,” Alemany Library Reading Room, noon-1 p.m. Open to the public.
October 16: The Alemany Library and the Division of Public Affairs present: Community Dialogues for the 2024 Election. Dominican political science professor Alison Howard, “Breaking Down the 2024 Election: Issues, Battleground States, Polls, and Momentum,” Alemany Library Reading Room, 4-5 p.m. Open to the public.
November 5: Election Night Watch Party, contact Alison.Howard@Dominican.edu for location, 6 p.m.
