Orientation Week 2021 Starts With Move-In Day
Faculty, staff, and students welcomed new and transfer students to the Dominican community with a series of fun activities designed to help new students get to know each other, the Dominican campus, and some the many cool things to do in nearby downtown San Rafael.
Orientation 2021 began with campus move-in day on August 18. Students checked in from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Conlan Recreation Center. While students were settling into the residence halls, their families and supporters were invited to attend informational sessions from 4-5:30 p.m. Sessions, which were held in English and Spanish, outlined the campus resources available to all students. Move-In Day culminated with a student mixer from 9-10:30 p.m. in the Fanjeaux Hall student union.
Orientation Week resumed August 19, with activities such as a farmer’s market and movie night then continued August 20 with events that included an ice cream social. It concluded over the weekend, August 21-22, with a shopping excursion and service and spirituality fair among the scheduled plans.
Classes for the 2021-22 academic year at Dominican began on Monday, August 23.
