Dominican earns Carnegie Community Engagement Classification
Dominican University of California has earned the 2008 Community Engagement Classification designation by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Dominican received the elective classification in both the areas of Curricular Engagement and Outreach and Partnerships. Dominican joins such institutions as Duke University, Georgetown University, Purdue University, Emory University and several California State Universities (Fresno, Fullerton, Long Beach, San Bernardino, San Marcos, and Stanislaus) among the institutions honored with the classification.

Dominican, SUPINFO Open San Francisco Campus
Dominican has entered into a partnership with SUPINFO International University, France’s largest accredited higher education institute of information technology. The partnership will bring about 240 students to a new Dominican University of California/SUPINFO campus in San Francisco and eventually will enable Dominican to offer select business programs to students enrolled at SUPINFO campuses overseas.

Five New Trustees Appointed to University Board
Former San Francisco Mayor the Honorable Willie L. Brown, Jr., Sister Raya Hanlon, O.P. ’59, Peter Jacobi, Renée Knee, and Susan McCue ’92 have been appointed to Dominican University of California’s Board of Trustees. John R. Gaulding has been appointed Chair of the Board. Gaulding previously served as the Board’s Chairman from 1991-1994.
